Sebago Lake Cottage

Peter will tell you that the special privilege and challenge of home building is the personal nature of the work. This project was near and dear to the homeowners, who made the decision to replace an old family lake cottage with a larger, updated home. Architect Stephen Blatt used wide pine boards in his design, which turned out beautifully.

Other unique features include the spacious sleeping porch and the outdoor fireplace, which was preserved in the tear down of the original cottage. Zoning regulations mandated that the new residence be set farther back from the water, but the family retains this beautiful reminder of the old cottage, and still gathers around the hearth at the end of the day for a fire and stories.
