Kents Hill School, Stephen Blatt Architects, and Warren Construction Group have had a long standing, productive relationship over the years. While the existing dining facility was improperly sized, inefficient and no longer viable, the addition of a new dining commons was a needed capital investment and a vital investment in the student and faculty campus life. The Bibby & Harold Alfond Dining Commons allows for greater efficiencies and better serves the school and its students, promotes unity and friendship as well as adding beauty to the campus.
The new facility is 15,000 square feet and features a state of the art kitchen, a full view baking center, and a scatter design serving area. The open concept dining room features a massive granite fireplace, wood slat ceiling, meeting rooms, student art gallery and a glass curtain wall that leads to outside seating, with stunning views of Mt Washington and the western mountains of Maine. The Bibby & Harold Alfond Dining Commons is a welcome and beautiful building for students and faculty to gather and share in the views of the day.
